Greetings Chargers!
We started the fall out strong and with persistent sports teams. Varsity volleyball ended the semifinals and varsity flag football won the city championship! Great Job Chargers! Following in our 276 athleticism, Nico ran the New York City Marathon. He finished the 26.2 mile race in 4 hours 40 minutes.
NJHS is holding a food drive! Donate non-perishable items to the students by the elevators by December 21st. Continuing with school events, morning announcements have just started this Monday. Ambassadors chosen by Student Council will be announced soon! These ambassadors are runner-ups from the election that occured a few months ago (Ambassadors will be homeroom representatives as opposed to grade representatives.)
This month, tragedy struck Pittsburgh. An anti-semitic gunman armed with a AR-15 rifle took the lives of 11 in a Pennsylvania synagogue. Robert D. Bowers, exchanged fire with police forces before being shot and hospitalized. Another gunman opened fire in a California bar packed with college students on November 7th. 28-year-old former Marine Ian David Long killed 12 and wounded dozens before killing himself.
