Hello Chargers!
This week, first-trimester report cards came out. We celebrate a menagerie of upcoming holidays as we head toward winter vacation and a new year. The Chargers Basketball teams have been thriving this season as they head toward playoffs later on in the winter. The middle school talent show is set to take place on January 11th, and the annual advisory winter-sing-along performance will take place in the afternoon of December 21st.
U.S. Presidents Donald Trump, Jimmy Carter, Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton attended the funeral ceremony of former U.S. president George H.W. Bush, alongside German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Great Britain's Prince Charles.
The creator of Spongebob, Stephen Hillenburg, passed away at 57 years old. “We are incredibly saddened by the news that Steve Hillenburg has passed away following a battle with ALS,” Nickelodeon said in a statement. “He was a beloved friend and long-time creative partner to everyone at Nickelodeon, and our hearts go out to his entire family. Steve imbued ‘SpongeBob SquarePants’ with a unique sense of humor and innocence that has brought joy to generations of kids and families everywhere. His utterly original characters and the world of Bikini Bottom will long stand as a reminder of the value of optimism, friendship and the limitless power of imagination.”
The world has lost another legend. Stan Lee, the famous creator of many of the world's mightiest heroes, passed away on November 12th, right before the release of the new Avengers: Endgame trailer.
