Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins is the sequel to The Hunger Games. The book is about Katniss after the 74th Hunger Games and how she balances her relationships with love interests Peeta and Gale, while living a life she has never known before. Throughout this book, readers will travel with Katniss on her journey as she goes on her victory tour. At the same time, her actions in the Hunger Games haunt her and she realizes she has done more damage to the well-being of her country’s citizens than she has meant to. When she comes home and thinks she is safe, something unexpected happens that will change her life.
“Catching Fire” explores character relationships and continues with a theme of love over survival. Many people have opinions on this book, and this is what some of them have to say:

Justin McCarthy-Hill, 8th Grade
This book was captivating. The characters went through experiences that were truly adventurous. Suzanne Collins does a good job following up to the first book.

Ethan Joseph, 8th Grade
I was very bored reading it.
Maren Aydogan, 7th Grade ELA Teacher

I feel like the author does a wonderful job creating similar conflicts as the first book in the trilogy.
