This month’s Pretzels with Justin interview is with 8th Grade student council member Oscar Frayne. We decided to ask him some questions about what Student Council is currently working on and what we can expect from them next in our school. Enjoy!

You seem to have lots of passion for the Student Council Organization. Can you explain that a little bit?

Well, I’ve been on Student Council for three years, and I’ve just grown a connection to the club.

What do you feel like you have accomplished in your years in student council?

In 6th Grade we had a few bake sales and we did the winter dance which is always fun for everyone. 7th Grade was sort of the same. We did introduce ambassadors into the mix of student council representatives, and I was one of them. This year we introduced a bunch of 6th graders to be part of student council as ambassadors and that was fun to interview and connect with the 6th graders.

What is Student Council currently working on and what can we expect from them next?

We need funds for the dance. We already have some but it would be nice to have some more money to work on. We want to have a fun experience for everyone, a great dance, and so we might have a bake sale and you’ll be expecting the dance in February, of course.

And what is that going to look like? Is there any particular theme to the dance this year?

Yes. It’s like a Caribbean, cowabunga, beach, I forgot the exact word.

Tropical?

Yes, Tropical, that’s the word.

What other events do you plan on having this year?

Basically those are the two things that seem to be prominent that we do, but if there are any suggestions we will definitely take them in for consideration, and this is just January, we have many months to come till the end of the year to work on projects.

Alright, thank you very much, you can eat pretzels now.

*Crunching noises*... I like pretzels.
